George Patten

Patten initially emigrated with the Wilford Woodruff Company in 1850. However, his life sketch indicates that he also participated in the Homer Duncan Company of 1862 as an out-and-back teamster, sent from the Payson Ward. Handcart Veteran Association records indicate that was also among the small group of rescuers that assisted the handcart companies that were stranded in Wyoming the winter of 1856.
