Thomas Bloxham

There is contradictory information on whether or not Thomas was in Utah by 1850. It is likely that he traveled to Utah alone, to secure work and a place to live before he returned for his family. His name appears on a list list of people who traveled to Iron County in December 1850, based on the 11 January 1851 Deseret News article, but his name also appears on the Iowa, Pottawattamie County census enumerated on 12 November 1850, so it is uncertain when he made that initial trip.

At some point, he returned to the east to collect his children and their step-mother. As indicated by the Immigrant Location Committee document, they arrived in Salt Lake City about 28 September 1852. Further research is needed to identify the name of the company they traveled with.

Thomas' birth date listed above is a christening date.
