Oliver Norton Harmon

He traveled to California with the Mormon Battalion. Upon his discharge he spent several years searching for gold. In 1857, he traveled eastward to Utah, arriving on 16 August in Salt Lake Valley. He was appointed sergeant of the guard in the Thatcher company. In mid-July, the Thatcher company joined with Saints from Carson Valley and reorganized under the leadership of Perrigrine Sessions to continue traveling to Utah.
