Lorenzo Dow Rudd

He and his wife may have traveled in the John G. Smith Company, but further research is needed to determine the name of the company they traveled with.   They were rebaptized several months after their arrival in Utah on 1 Feb. 1852, suggesting they arrived in the valley with an 1851 company.

At the end of a mission, Lorenzo traveled with the Christian Christiansen Company in 1857 as the Assistant Captain of the company, as indicated in Johan F. F. Dorius’ journal.

In 1868, he traveled with the Chester Loveland Company in 1868, with a wife and child, as indicated in a Deseret Evening News article of 17 August 1868.

Birth and death dates are confirmed by his death certificate.

On new FamilySearch, his name is listed as “David Rudd.”
