Wilson Daniel Pace

Although historians do not include him as a member of the Mormon Battalion, he wrote in 1897: "I came into Salt Lake Valley from the west after the Mormon Battalion was discharged at Los Angeles, July 16, 1847." He said the captain of his returning group was James Pace.

He later participated as one of the rescuers that were sent out in the winter of 1856 to assist the members of the Church stranded in Wyoming.
