Sarah Simmons Thomson

Sarah arrived in New York on 13 June 1862 via the ship Manchester, traveling with her husband, John Prior Thomson, children, and her husband's family. Family tradition indicates that the Thomson family traveled as part of the James Wareham company in 1862. However, the Deseret News (8 October 1862) documented the death of a "Mrs. Thompson" in the James S. Brown Company. It is thought this was actually Lois Thomson, her husband's sister. If that is the case, the family likely traveled with this company. Additional research is needed to identify which of the two companies they traveled with.
