George Albert Shales

George Albert arrived in New Orleans via the ship St. Petersburg on 26 November 1852. First documentation to place him in Utah is the 1856 Utah census, in which he is seen living in Millard County.

Several years later, George participated as an out-and-back teamster for the Murdock and White Companies to assist members of the Church emigrating into the valley. Some sources spell his name as "Shail." The ship passenger list spells it as "Sheeol."
