Ola Nilsson Liljenquist

Ola initially traveled to the Salt Lake Valley in the Christian Christiansen Company in 1857 as indicated in his autobiographical sketch. 

According to his autobiography, he traveled from Iowa City to Florence with the handcart company while his family traveled with a wagon company.  He was able to join the rest of his family traveling in the Matthias Cowley Company (1857) where they were able to enter the Salt Lake Valley together.  His given name appears as “Ole” or “Olaf” on the rosters.

At the end of a mission, he traveled to the Salt Lake Valley as captain of the Ola N. Liljenquist Company in 1862 as indicated in his autobiographical sketch as well as in Our Pioneer Heritage.
