Jabez Woodard

Jabez initially traveled to the Salt Lake Valley from England with the Robert L. Campbell Company in 1854, as indicated in his autobiographical sketch.  In 1850, Jabez was called on a mission to Italy.  When he returned from that mission, he prepared his family to go to the Salt Lake Valley.  He traveled from England with his wife, Ann Granger, and children Eleanor, Harriet, and Jabez John.  While in Kansas, Harriet died of Cholera.

In 1857, Jabez was called to preside over the Swiss-German mission.  At the end of this mission, he returned home with the Sixtus E. Johnson Company in 1861, serving as Chaplain and a Captain of Ten.
