John Marvin Chamberlain

John initially traveled from England to the Salt Lake Valley in the Appleton M. Harmon Company in 1853, as indicated in his Reminiscences.  He traveled with his father, Thomas Chamberlain, mother, Elizabeth Jackson Chamberlain, and brothers, Richard and William Henry.  Except for one day, where he rode in Captain Appleton Harmon’s wagon because of an injured foot that an ox had stepped on, he walked all the way to Salt Lake City.
