William Thom Macdonald Adam
The Adam family sailed to America in 1850. William's name is listed in the Book of Recorded Marks and Brands on 26 May 1852. This was prior to the arrival of that season's emigration so they likely traveled to Utah in 1851. He also purchased property in Salt Lake City 26 September 1853 and then sold it two days later. Further research is needed to confirm their year of travel and determine the name of the pioneer company they traveled to Utah with.
The Find a Grave website, a secondary source, does not have a picture of William's gravestone, but gives a history of the family at:
It states that the family left Utah in 1854 for California and remained there.
William and three children, Jemima, William, and Alexander appear on the 1850 North Atlantic ship manifest, arriving in Louisiana 1 November 1850. The child William, born about 1836, is mentioned in the Find a Grave account as the brother of Alexander. William is not included as a member of the family in FamilySearch/Family Tree.
