Charles Henry Browne
Evidence from emigration, church and newspaper records proves that Charles Henry Browne and his mother, Mary Shaw Browne, emigrated from England in 1851. They traveled on the ship, The Ellen Maria, arriving on April 7, in New Orleans. They then traveled on to Utah. Their surname appears as "Brown" on the ship manifest. Further research is needed to determine the name of the company they traveled with.
The family sailed to America in 1851 on the ship Ellen Maria.
While working as a teamster in the Daniel D. McArthur (1868) Company, Charles met his wife Margaret Ann Boak. They married after the company's arrival in the Salt Lake Valley in 1868.
