Husband of Mary Remington Brown. For a time they lived in Nauvoo, Hancock County, Illinois (both were Endowed in the Nauvoo Temple 31 January 1846). In the Journal and Reminiscences of Henry Emery--found as sources for the ship Carnatic (1848) on the Mormon Migration website--are the following references: In the Journal--at St. Louis "we met with Bro. . . . Thomas Brown and family. . . ." In the Reminiscences is a reference to Thomas Brown and family "from Doncaster" living in St. Louis. Two daughters (Elizabeth and Mary Ellen) were born to Thomas and Mary at St. Louis. The Browns were living in St. Louis Ward 6 at the time of the 1850 federal census. Mary was re-baptized in Utah in October 1851 and according to Family Tree a third daughter (Sarah) was born at Cottonwood, Salt Lake County in December 1852.
