The Relief Society’s Mission

“Our labors are very different from those of the members of other societies,” Marilla Johnson Daniels once told her fellow stake Relief Society members. “Ours are to encourage those who are discouraged and bowed down as well as caring for the sick and needy.” It was not just physical or material improvement that the society was after; it was psychological and spiritual improvement as well.
