    Strengthening the La Union Branch

When Baltazar Federico was called as president of the La Union Branch in the Philippines in the 1970s, one third of the members were active. Considering how to strengthen the branch, President Federico and his counselors became convinced that “the key to a healthy and active branch was family home evening.” Federico and his counselors took their families into the homes of less-active members two or three times each week to hold family home evenings and model how they could work. Soon, 125 of the branch’s 135 members were active.
