Joseph Fielding Smith’s Teaching Style

As the Church’s main Spanish translator from the 1940s to the 1970s, Eduardo Balderas associated closely with many Church leaders. He particularly enjoyed Joseph Fielding Smith’s one-on-one teaching style. “‘Do you know how he used to help me? By asking me questions. When I would go to him with a problem, he would ask me questions to find out what I knew about the subject.’ Soon, through his replies to President Smith’s questions, the answer Brother Balderas sought would become clear.”
