The Loudspeaker Outside

Missionaries throughout the world are encouraged to avoid the spirit of contention and to show respect for those of other faiths. Two elders’ resolve to do this was put to the test, though, in Nabunturan, Philippines, when another church set up a loudspeaker in front of their apartment and challenged them daily to debate anti-Mormon claims. The elders’ consistent refusals to fight or speak out against their accusers soon motivated curious people to invite the missionaries to their homes to hear their message in peace, and the Church grew quickly.
