    Living History Programs

    Step back in time with us during one of our living history days, where you can speak, work, and play with figures from the Church’s past. During these events, costumed interpreters perform historical demonstrations with authentic materials and will help you and your family relive key moments in Latter-day Saint history.

    Profiles of the Past: 175 Years of Relief Society

    Friday, March 30, 2018 (general conference weekend), from 10:00 a.m. to 9:00 p.m.

    Family History Block Party

    Saturday, June 16, 2018 (joint with Family History Library), from 10:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m.

    Pioneer Fair and Bowery Dance

    Friday, July 20, 5:00—9:00 PM. Celebrate the 1847 arrival of the Mormons in the Salt Lake Valley with “pioneers” from the museum’s living history program and a good old-fashioned kick-up-your-heels dance with musicians and dance callers from The Haywire Ranch String Band. Enjoy pioneer games, crafts, trades, music, dancing, and fun for all ages!

    December Pioneer Christmas Activities

    Throughout December, stop by the boardroom on the second floor of the museum for pioneer Christmas activities such as ornament making and storytelling. Activities will be scheduled daily based upon volunteer availability and may not occur each day.
