Simon Cooker Dalton

His death date is confirmed by the inscription on his gravestone and the Utah State History Cemeteries and Burials Database.

Simon filed for a lot in Salt Lake City soon after arriving and sold property in Salt Lake City 29 March 1853.  In those two transactions, his surname is listed as "Dolten," but the Cemeteries and Burials Database lists his name as "Dalton." Death certificates of his children also list the surname of their father as "Dalton."
